As of April 9th, 2014 there are only 5 people still alive who were born in the 1800’s, prior to the year 1900. All females, they include 3 Americans, 1 Japanese and 1 Italian.

Median age in Uganda is around 15 years. In comparison, Italy’s median age is over 44 years. That is to say, someone in Uganda is considered ‘old’ in their latter teenage years while someone in Italy turning 40 years old is still considered ‘young’ relative to their fellow citizens.
