There is a hypergiant star about 5,300 light years from Earth which is the largest known sun thus far. NML Cygni is so large you can fit 3.6 billion of our suns into this thing and if it was positioned in the same place, it’s surface would extend further than the orbit of Jupiter.
The magnetic field of our sun will change its polarity sometime in later 2013, an event felt as far as Pluto and beyond.
Sometime in the future our planet will have a human population of zero. It is uncertain if future humans will be able to relocate to a habitable location or if our extinction will result.
The Earth is spinning at about 1,000 MPH while it obits around the Sun, a unimpressive star, at about 67,000 MPH.
Any space vehicle must move at a rate of 7 miles per second in order to escape the earth’s gravitational pull.
